Riad Bouchaker, 52, is found guilty by a jury at Ireland’s Central Criminal Court of attempting to murder three children in a stabbing attack in Dublin in November 2023. The attack took place in the city centre and prompted outrage across Ireland, including riots in parts of the capital.

The jury also convicts Bouchaker of assault offences connected to the same incident. The courts find he assaulted four other people: two additional children and a teenager, as well as a childcare worker, Leanne Flynn, with the jury returning a guilty verdict for assault causing serious harm to her.

Bouchaker had denied the charge of attempting to murder the three children and the related assault allegations, according to reports. Multiple outlets describe the case as one that drew significant public attention after it escalated into unrest in Dublin. The convictions therefore cover both the attempt to murder three children and multiple counts of assault involving other victims, including a childcare worker.
