The WTA Finals is leaving Saudi Arabia earlier than planned and is set to move to the Indian Wells Tennis Garden in California for this year’s season-ending event. Multiple outlets report that the WTA is ending its partnership with Saudi Arabia a year ahead of schedule. The Finals has been held in Riyadh since 2024, under a three-year agreement negotiated between the WTA and the Saudi Tennis Federation.
This year’s tournament is scheduled for November 8 to 15, with the top eight women’s singles players and doubles teams competing. The move is described as a mutual agreement between the WTA and the Saudi Tennis Federation to conclude the hosting arrangement early. Coverage also notes that the WTA Finals has previously been staged in other locations worldwide, including Singapore, China, and Mexico.
While some reports focus on this year’s relocation to Indian Wells, at least one source also says the 2026 edition had been expected to remain in Riyadh under the final year of the Saudi arrangement, which is now concluded early.
