Model and influencer Nara Smith says her 2-year-old daughter, Whimsy Lou, has been diagnosed with cancer. Smith and her husband, Lucky Blue Smith, reportedly noticed something unusual with their daughter and took her to the emergency room, where doctors later confirmed the diagnosis. According to Smith, doctors tell the family the cancer has spread and that Whimsy must begin chemotherapy immediately.
Smith describes the early medical visit in an Instagram video, saying her pediatrician became unusually quiet and that she felt it was cancer before the diagnosis was confirmed. She does not specify the type of cancer. She adds that she finds support by connecting with other parents through online forums and social media, as well as through families she encounters in the hospital.
Smith also says the experience is especially difficult given her recovery postpartum, her responsibilities caring for her other children, frequent hospital visits, and work commitments. She and Lucky Blue Smith have four children: Whimsy Lou, Rumble Honey, Slim Easy, and Fawnie Golden.
