BBC News says Ross committed attacks in Stornoway in 2012 and 2014, and abused another woman in Inverness between 2019 and 2022. Other outlets add that he also carried out offences in Inverness and on the Isle of Lewis during the period from 2012 onward, with the abuse of the third woman spanning into the early 2020s. The Daily Record and The Scotsman report that Ross is sentenced at the High Court in Edinburgh, on Thursday, 2 July. The Scotsman also states that Ross resigned from Police Scotland in June after being found guilty by a jury the previous month. The Evening Standard describes Ross as 39 at the time of sentencing and reiterates that he was serving when the offences occurred.
