The U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctions more than 130 cryptocurrency wallet addresses linked to an ISIS affiliate that is operating in Central Asia, according to multiple reports. The sanctioned wallets are connected to the Tron blockchain. Decrypt reports that the wallets are associated with a Central Asian ISIS affiliate and that their associated funds are frozen by Tether.

Cointelegraph reports that OFAC adds 134 ISIS-K–linked wallet addresses to its sanctions list. It states that most of the addresses, 131 Tron addresses, received more than $1.4 million in crypto donations, citing blockchain analysis data from Chainalysis. Cointelegraph also notes that Tether freezes funds connected to the sanctioned addresses.

While the outlets describe slightly different totals and reference the specific ISIS affiliate label (including ISIS-K in one account), both reports agree that OFAC is targeting ISIS-linked crypto wallets on Tron and that Tether enforces the sanctions by freezing funds associated with the listed addresses.
