Tata Electronics overtakes Foxconn in iPhone export value during India’s Production Linked Incentive (PLI) period, based on vendor data submitted to the government and cited by Business Standard. Across FY22 to FY26, Tata Electronics assembles and exports iPhones worth about $26.3 billion, narrowly ahead of Foxconn’s roughly $25.6 billion. The figures cover exported iPhone assembly value rather than total production for the Indian market.
Despite Tata’s export lead, Foxconn remains ahead on overall iPhone production value in India, including both exports and domestic sales. Foxconn’s total iPhone production over the five-year period is reported at about $38 billion, compared with Tata Electronics’ about $35.5 billion. A key difference is domestic focus: Foxconn’s internal-market production is valued around $12.4 billion, substantially higher than Tata Electronics’ roughly $6.3 billion.
The sources also report that exports account for about 73.6% of total iPhone production value in India over the period, with domestic sales valued at around $18.6 billion. Tata Electronics’ rise is linked to its later entry into Apple’s manufacturing ecosystem, supported by acquisitions of Wistron’s India operations and a stake in Pegatron’s India operations.
