Moritz Borman, a German-born film producer known for work on major Hollywood franchises and frequent collaborations with director Oliver Stone, has died at 71. Multiple outlets report that his death was confirmed by his longtime producing partners, Eric Kopeloff and Philip Schulz-Deyle. Variety says Borman died in Munich, while Deadline reports he died July 1 on the set of an upcoming film being shot in Germany. The reports also state that no cause of death was disclosed.

Borman’s career includes producing Oscar-nominated films such as “The Quiet American” and “Under the Volcano,” and he is described as a frequent collaborator on Oliver Stone projects. His franchise credits also include sequels and related projects in the “Terminator” universe, including “Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines” and “Terminator Salvation.” Deadline additionally cites his work on “The Crow: Salvation.”

Hollywood Reporter adds that Borman was working on an untitled John Lee Hancock movie at the time of his death. An upcoming project mentioned in reporting has not been fully identified beyond being in production in Germany.
