YouTuber Jon Prosser has filed a formal response to Apple’s lawsuit accusing him and co-defendant Michael Ramacciotti of conspiring to obtain and share alleged Apple iOS trade secrets. Apple’s case, filed about a year earlier, says the two coordinated to access information from former Apple software engineer Ethan Lipnik’s development iPhone, which they allegedly used to profit from details later referred to as iOS 19—eventually associated with iOS 26. Prosser’s filing denies that he planned or participated in any conspiracy or coordinated scheme aimed at injuring Apple. He also disputes that the information he viewed or discussed involved Apple trade secrets and says he did not know the development iPhone belonged to Lipnik.
Prosser’s response acknowledges that he participated in a FaceTime call where Ramacciotti displayed certain unreleased “iOS 19” features and apps running on the development iPhone. Prosser’s attorneys argue that Ramacciotti’s act of showing the content was not induced by Prosser and that Ramacciotti is therefore responsible for any alleged trade-secret disclosure. Prosser further says Ramacciotti should indemnify him for any harm caused. The case is before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
