Maatrubhumi, a Salman Khan film based on the 2020 Galwan Valley clash, remains delayed as media reports circulate about Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) clearance. Times of India reports that the film’s release, previously expected around August following postponement from April, may be affected because CBFC clearance is reportedly withheld, despite the film’s title change from “Battle of Galwan.” Free Press Journal earlier cited an NDTV report that CBFC certification for the film is put on hold until further notice.

In response to these claims, Salman Khan Films posts a statement on social media saying the reports are false and “entirely baseless.” The statement says the film has not yet been submitted to the CBFC for certification, and it asks media outlets and individuals to refrain from spreading unverified information. The makers also say any official updates will come only through the company’s official channels.

Maatrubhumi is directed by Apoorva Lakhia and stars Chitrangda Singh. Reports also note the title change and previous controversy related to China references, though specific production or certification details are disputed. Social media users continue to debate release timing, including calls for an OTT release.
