The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) calls for President Bola Tinubu to immediately remove Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila from office and/or suspend him while allegations over a purported Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) are investigated. In a statement signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director, the NDC argues that Gbajabiamila’s alleged involvement warrants an independent probe.

The NDC cites claims by Prince Matthew Adeniyi Adeyemi, who says he heads the “non-existent” PFIPC. According to the allegations, PFIPC allegedly received allocations in the 2026 budget and opened multiple accounts with the Central Bank of Nigeria, including a domiciliary account and a Treasury Single Account. The party also questions how such banking arrangements could exist if the Presidency says the agency does not exist. It additionally alleges that the Head of the Civil Service approved 314 positions for PFIPC and that Gbajabiamila demanded a 48% share of a “take-off grant,” which the NDC says totals ₦27.3 billion, and helped facilitate Adeyemi’s appointment after receiving ₦600 million.

The NDC further points to the death of Babatunde Tanimola, described as an intermediary, in a hotel fire in Abuja in October 2025, and urges investigations by the EFCC, ICPC, and the Police. The Presidency denies the PFIPC claims, saying Adeyemi forged appointment letters and that criminal charges are already filed against him.
