Multiple outlets report a claim from leaker “Kosutami” that Apple has suspended development of camera-equipped AirPods Pro. The announcement is brief: Kosutami reposts a prior statement referring to the product “case” being “concluded” and indicates the project is now “suspended.” Neither report provides additional technical or scheduling details.

The claim contrasts with earlier reporting. Bloomberg previously said in May that camera-equipped AirPods Pro were nearing completion and had reached an “advanced” testing stage, suggesting early mass production could be imminent. Bloomberg also reported that Apple might delay launch depending on the quality of “Visual Intelligence” features intended for Siri.

According to prior rumors, the AirPods would include built-in cameras that feed visual information about the wearer’s surroundings to Siri for AI-related functions rather than for capturing photos or video. Kosutami previously claimed the infrared cameras would support connectivity with Apple Intelligence, and other sources have corroborated that assertion.

Kosutami’s track record is described as mixed, with some earlier accurate prototype-related information and at least one incorrect near-term AirPods Pro prediction.
