Mukesh Ambani and Sunil Bharti Mittal are among the founding members of the AI for Good Global Commission, a new international initiative focused on guiding the responsible development and adoption of artificial intelligence. Business Standard and the Free Press Journal report that the commission includes more than 40 leaders from industry, government, and multilateral organizations, and is intended to help shape practical frameworks to build trust in AI systems, improve access, and encourage the technology’s use in addressing global challenges. The commission was announced on July 3 by Rwanda President Paul Kagame, Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff, and International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Secretary-General Doreen Bogdan-Martin. Kagame is set to co-chair the commission with Benioff, while Bogdan-Martin serves as vice-chair. Other founding members named across the reports include leading technology executives such as Jensen Huang, Brad Smith, Andy Jassy, and James Manyika, among others. The commission also emphasizes reducing the risk of widening the global digital divide, including by supporting benefits for developing countries. Its first formal meeting is planned for the AI for Good Global Summit 2026 in Geneva, held July 7–10.
