Prime Minister Narendra Modi visits Rajasthan and inaugurates multiple projects across energy and connectivity. In Balotra’s Pachpadra, he dedicates India’s first greenfield integrated refinery-cum-petrochemical complex. The joint venture between Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) and the Government of Rajasthan has an annual crude processing capacity of 9 million metric tonnes (MMTPA) and includes both refining and petrochemical units across a large 32-km campus. The ceremony follows a postponement earlier in the year after a fire affected the refinery’s central unit shortly before the planned inauguration.

Earlier in the day, Modi inaugurates the new terminal building at Jodhpur Airport, a project reported at a cost of about ₹480 crore and designed to handle up to 20 lakh passengers annually. He also launches the Modified UDAN scheme from Jodhpur, with an allocation reported at ₹28,840 crore over 10 years, alongside support such as operations and maintenance funding and viability gap funding for airlines. In addition, Modi lays the foundation stone for the second phase of the Jaipur Metro and references other rail and road works as part of the day’s programme.
