Senate President Godswill Akpabio says the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, “learnt” from him and should “take it easy” even as he praises Wike’s work ethic. Speaking on Friday during the commissioning of access roads serving the Renewed Hope cities and estates in Karsana West District of the FCT, Akpabio said Wike previously visited Akwa Ibom State when Akpabio was governor and praised the projects he saw there. Akpabio described an example where Wike allegedly examined an under-drainage system and reacted to what he found, saying that if he ever had the opportunity to lead in Rivers State, he would “perform miracles.” Akpabio also said he later urged Wike not to try to surpass his record. The Senate president added that hard work has since become part of Wike’s approach, and he expressed the view that Wike now “performs” in whatever office he holds. The commissioning was attended with Akpabio representing President Bola Tinubu to mark the president’s third year in office.
