Police in Agra say a woman has confessed to killing her husband and hiding his body under their bathroom floor. According to reports, the woman initially told neighbours and others that her husband was missing and maintained that claim for about 45 days. A routine verification by police, along with concerns raised by the victim’s brother, led investigators to the bathroom, where they began searching for evidence. Police and workers reportedly broke through layers of plaster and cemented flooring to recover the remains. Times of India reports that the case involved the alleged poisoning of the husband with food, described as kheer, before he was buried under the bathroom floor. NDTV similarly reports that police, with workers, recover the body after breaking the bathroom floor’s plaster layer, based on the woman’s account and subsequent police findings. After the discovery, the body is exhumed for further examination. The investigation continues into the circumstances surrounding the alleged poisoning and the timeline of events.
