Reports from multiple outlets state that the new deadline is in late July 2026, with dates cited as 24 July and, in one report, 26 July. INEC also announces a dedicated online portal for self-service registration, with different outlets describing the start date as 8 July 2026. The platform allows first-time voters to complete registration processes that include biometric capture using personal devices from anywhere, with INEC stating that it uses identity verification and checks intended to protect the integrity of the National Register of Voters. Separately, additional reports describe that INEC’s online self-service portal also supports functions related to voter credentials and registration management, including applications linked to Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), such as updating information and replacing lost or damaged cards.
