The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is set to conduct an Emerging Men’s Tournament at its Cricket Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru, running from July 4 to July 26, with the on-field competition scheduled for July 6 to July 24. The tournament is designed as a four-day red-ball event to help the BCCI identify potential future Test cricketers among Under-25 players.

Former India cricketers Ramesh Powar and Wasim Jaffer will serve as coaches for teams in the tournament. Four Under-25 sides will take part, led by captains drawn from the promising talent pool. Uday Saharan, Ravichandran Smaran, Yash Dhull, and Himateja K are named as the captains for the respective teams.

Both outlets report that the format and age-group selection aim to provide structured match experience for emerging players while putting them in front of experienced coaching staff. The tournament is expected to play a role in the BCCI’s wider player development pathway toward the Test format.
