The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) arrests a woman at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) in Mumbai after officers allegedly seize foreign-origin gold worth about ₹6 crore. Officials say the passenger arrives from Dubai on Friday and is intercepted based on specific intelligence. During a search, the DRI alleges that officers find four gold bars marked for foreign origin, weighing a total of around 4 kg (4,000 grams). The gold is reportedly concealed inside the woman’s trousers, which the DRI describes as an attempt to smuggle the metal into India. The seized bars are estimated to be worth roughly ₹6 crore. After the seizure, the DRI arrests the passenger and registers the case under provisions of the Customs Act, 1962. The agency states that further investigation is under way to identify possible associates or others linked to the alleged smuggling attempt.
