Police say the body of fugitive Julian Ingram is believed to have been found near an abandoned ute about 50 kilometres from Lake Cargelligo, in central west New South Wales, bringing an end to a four-month manhunt. Ingram, 37, was wanted after police alleged he shot former partner Sophie Quinn, Quinn’s new boyfriend, and Quinn’s aunt in Lake Cargelligo on 22 January. Police say the killings occurred around 450 kilometres west of Sydney.
Ingram had been on bail at the time, facing alleged domestic-violence-related offences connected to Quinn. Police previously said he fled the scene in a Ford Ranger ute with council signage. The body was discovered beside the abandoned ute north-west of Lake Cargelligo. Police state they suspect Ingram died by suicide “some time ago,” and that the person is yet to be formally identified.
