Nigerian troops repel a terrorist attack on a Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Moriki, Zurmi Local Government Area, Zamfara State. Security analyst Zagazola Makama reports via X that the assault happens at about 1:00 a.m. on Friday and involves coordinated attacks from multiple directions. Nigerian Eye and Daily Post Nigeria both state that troops from Combat Team 5 (CT 5) engage the attackers during a gun battle and prevent the terrorists from breaching the base, driving them back.

Both reports say three civilians are injured as a result of stray bullets fired during the fighting. The injured are evacuated to a nearby hospital for treatment. The accounts do not report any fatalities or injuries among military personnel. After the incident, sources indicate that the situation is brought under control and security is reinforced in the area to deter any follow-up attacks.
