A Labour Party official, Abayomi Arabambi, issues a legal demand against former presidential candidate Peter Obi over an alleged defamatory statement made during a podcast interview. According to a demand letter from Neplus Ultra Attorneys, signed by Anderson U. Asemota, Peter O. Asimegbe and Stanley C. Eziefulle, Arabambi claims Obi said Arabambi “does not have an address,” presenting him as having no identity, legitimacy or credibility. The letter says the interview was widely shared on television and digital platforms, and that the statement caused ridicule and embarrassment, harming Arabambi’s reputation and political standing.

The letter gives Obi a seven-day ultimatum to respond. Arabambi demands an unreserved public apology broadcast on national television and published on Obi’s verified social media accounts, along with full-page apologies in national newspapers. He also seeks N50 billion as compensation for alleged injury to his reputation, dignity, and public image. The reports do not include a response from Obi or his representatives at the time of publication. The dispute is described as part of ongoing internal tensions within the Labour Party while Obi continues political engagements and public commentary.
