Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Brandon Woodruff is back on the injured list due to inflammation in his throwing shoulder, according to reports. The move comes after a recent start against the Arizona Diamondbacks in which Woodruff’s velocity dropped, leading to an early exit. In Saturday’s 4-3 loss, he was removed in the fourth inning after striking out Adrian Del Castillo with a 75.1-mph changeup. Following Woodruff’s return to the IL, the Brewers make a corresponding roster move by recalling left-handed pitcher Drew Rom from Triple-A Nashville. This is Woodruff’s second stint on the injured list this season. He previously missed about six weeks with a right shoulder problem. The current injury is described as inflammation rather than a return to the earlier ailment, but the reported location remains the right shoulder.
