The Detroit Tigers trade reliever Woo-Suk Go to the Minnesota Twins for cash considerations, multiple reports say. Go, 27, is a right-handed pitcher who has been playing in the minors for the Tigers, most recently with Triple-A Toledo. According to reported details, Go was not on Detroit’s 40-man roster and is expected to be added to the Twins’ roster due to an assignment clause in his contract. Reports indicate the Twins receive Go in a deal described as cash-for-player. Go is expected to join Minnesota shortly after the trade and could make his major league debut with the organization.
In the minor leagues, Go has produced strong results for Detroit, posting a low ERA across both Double-A and Triple-A and recording dozens of strikeouts over limited innings. Previously in the Korea Baseball Organization, he was a two-time All-Star for the LG Twins and led the league with 139 saves from 2019 to 2023. After signing with the San Diego Padres in January 2024, he was later traded to the Miami Marlins before reaching only Triple-A level in the U.S.
