Train services on the Mumbai–Pune corridor are suspended following landslides triggered by heavy monsoon rainfall in the Karjat–Lonavala stretch of the Bhor Ghat section. Railway officials report that heavy rain on July 6 sets off multiple landslides between Karjat and Lonavala, damaging all three tracks in the ghat area. The incidents are reported near Thakurwadi and the Monkey Hill Loop/Monkey Hill cabin, including an event on the middle line between Khandala and Monkey Hill at around 3:05 am. Because all three railway lines are affected, Central Railway cancels, diverts, and regulates trains on the route. Several long-distance and passenger services are listed as cancelled, including the CSMT–Pune Indrayani Express, Intercity Express, Deccan Express, Deccan Queen, Pragati Express, and Dhule Express. Multiple outlets also report that restoration work is under way, with cancellations and service disruption extending through at least July 17. The suspension continues for a second consecutive day in some updates, reflecting ongoing work to clear and repair damage in the affected ghat section.
