Eurovision organisers issue a formal warning to Israel’s broadcaster Kan after it published promotional videos telling viewers to “vote 10 times for Israel” ahead of the 2026 contest. Eurovision says the instruction is not consistent with new voting-promotion rules designed to limit third-party influence and coordinated or fraudulent voting. The issue comes amid earlier concerns raised by competing broadcasters about last year’s voting and promotion, including allegations that the existing system allowed excessive repeated televotes and that some promotion was disproportionate or campaign-like.
Ahead of this year, Eurovision introduces voting safeguards and tighter limits on promotion, including reduced permitted televotes and technical measures aimed at detecting and blocking coordinated or fraudulent voting. After the “vote 10 times” videos are brought to Eurovision’s attention, organisers contact the Kan delegation within 20 minutes and ask it to stop distribution and remove the videos from platforms where they appear. Eurovision then confirms Kan receives a formal warning letter and that organisers continue to monitor promotional activity closely.
Eurovision’s director says organisers are watching the contest “very, very carefully,” while stating Eurovision is not pursuing immediate disqualification and that it seeks to resolve issues without sanctions.
