The National Testing Agency (NTA) is processing refunds for eligible NEET UG 2026 candidates and has opened a bank-details verification/update window on the official portal, neet.nta.nic.in. Multiple outlets report that the facility to submit or correct bank information closes at 11:50 pm on July 7, 2026. NTA says refunds have begun for candidates who have already confirmed their bank account details, but a large number of eligible applicants still have not completed the verification. Candidates who miss the deadline may face delays in receiving their examination-fee refunds.

The refund exercise follows the cancellation of the original NEET UG 2026 examination after the paper leak controversy. NTA later conducted a re-examination on June 21, 2026, and then initiated the refund process for eligible candidates.

To request a refund, candidates log in to the NEET UG portal using their application number and password, use the refund link on the dashboard, enter bank details, and verify the information. NTA advises uploading a scanned cancelled cheque where possible to help avoid verification errors. Once submitted, the bank details are treated as final and no further changes are allowed. Refunds are expected to be credited through the same payment mode used for fee payment, and amounts vary by category.
