Raymond Limited appoints Bhanu Prakash Srivastava as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for its defence business, the company says in an exchange filing. The move comes as Raymond looks to expand its defence and aerospace activities and develop more “technology-led” capabilities. Multiple outlets report that Srivastava previously served at Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), including as chairman and managing director, with decades of experience in defence technologies and large-scale programme execution. At BEL, he is reported to have helped triple the company’s market capitalisation (from about ₹51,000 crore to about ₹1.5 lakh crore), secure more than ₹55,000 crore in new orders, and oversee the launch of over 100 products, while strengthening R&D. Raymond says Srivastava will set the defence business’s strategic vision, operational roadmap and growth agenda, including evolving engineering capabilities from precision manufacturing into higher-value defence electronics, software, systems integration, and related aerospace and automotive technologies. Market reaction is also reported: Raymond shares rise nearly 4% on the appointment, before easing slightly in later trading.
