Oliver Glasner is appointed as Nottingham Forest’s new head coach after leaving Crystal Palace. Multiple outlets report that the Austrian, who becomes the club’s latest managerial appointment, takes over following a rapid period of leadership changes at Forest. The Athletic and other sources describe him as Forest’s fifth permanent head coach in less than a year, and he is noted as replacing Vitor Pereira.

Before joining Forest, Glasner left Crystal Palace at the end of last season. Sources agree he led Palace to their first major trophy, winning the FA Cup in 2025, and he followed that success by guiding the club to victory in May’s Conference League final. The Guardian adds that Glasner had already announced plans not to renew his contract with Palace several months earlier.

After his appointment is confirmed, Glasner sets out aims for further progress, including taking Forest “to the next level.”
