The Golden State Warriors reportedly decline to match a restricted free agent offer sheet signed by Quinten Post with the Memphis Grizzlies. Multiple reports state that the Grizzlies’ offer is for three years and $30 million. As a result, Post is set to leave Golden State after two seasons with the team and join Memphis’ frontcourt.
According to The Athletic, Post averaged 7.8 points and 3.8 rebounds with the Warriors before moving to the Grizzlies. The Athletic also notes that Memphis’ roster includes Cameron Boozer, and it reports that Golden State is unlikely to match the contract because doing so could affect the team’s pursuit of LeBron James.
Yahoo Sports reports that the Warriors had a 48-hour window to match the offer sheet. Several Yahoo stories then confirm that Post signs with Memphis after Golden State does not match the terms. One additional Yahoo report highlights that Draymond Green praises Post’s agent regarding the negotiations.
