Publix is recalling frozen GreenWise Organic IQF blueberries sold in multiple states after people become ill with E. coli. According to reports, 12 confirmed cases of E. coli O145 have been identified. The cases are linked to consumption of a single recalled product: a 10-ounce package of GreenWise Organic IQF Blueberries.
The recall covers blueberries distributed across eight states, though outlets differ on where exactly the product was sold. The suspected contamination involves E. coli, a bacteria that can cause gastrointestinal illness, including severe stomach cramps, diarrhea, and vomiting.
Publix advises customers to check product identifiers associated with the recalled lot and to stop using the affected blueberries. Health officials continue investigating the source of contamination and the scope of any potential exposure.
