Stellantis is opening U.S. orders for the Fiat Topolino, a small electric vehicle that has been sold in Europe for about three years. Multiple outlets describe the Topolino as closer in function to a quadricycle or golf cart than a conventional car. The base model is priced at a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $13,995 and is offered in two versions: a standard Topolino with a hard top and doors, and a Topolino Dolcevita with a roll-back soft top and ropes instead of doors. Both versions are fully electric.

A key part of the U.S. offering is that the base configuration limits performance. With the vehicle at its $13,995 starting price, it is capped at about 19 mph, which means it is only legal to drive on private property such as gated communities or resorts. Stellantis also offers an optional Low Speed Vehicle (LSV) conversion kit. When installed, it raises the top speed to about 25 mph and makes the vehicle street legal on public roads with speed limits up to 35 mph. This conversion is priced at an additional $990. While outlets note the vehicle is not intended for highways, they say it could fit certain urban or low-speed settings.
