Luke Sparke, director of the VFX-focused film Primitive War, is developing a new series called Dinosaurs of the Wild West. Multiple outlets report that a trailer is now available and that the project is pitched as a dinosaur-filled frontier where cowboys ride dinosaurs instead of horses. The series is described as a large-scale, cinematic world that blends Wild West storytelling with prehistoric spectacle.
Sources say the concept is set in 1879, with humans and dinosaurs presented as having evolved together. As the frontier expands, the story introduces a growing threat of extinction that is framed as not being purely natural. The series draws on the illustrated universe and artwork of creator Shaun Keenan, and it features narration by actor Jesse Kove.
In addition to sharing teaser material, Sparke’s team is launching a Kickstarter to fund the project. According to the reports, the initial pitch targets two episodes and measures audience response as the series moves forward.
