Karnataka’s government says it will expand industrial activity in tier-2 and tier-3 cities to create jobs locally and reduce migration to larger urban centres. The chief minister announces a package of measures aimed at regional employment and skill development, including incentives intended to attract and support industries outside major cities.

The government also links the industrial push to education and workforce initiatives. It plans to set up around 2,000 schools funded through corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes, with a focus on improving educational access in rural and less developed areas. In addition, it introduces “Yuva Setu,” described as an effort to strengthen rural education and employment opportunities.

Taken together, the policy outlines a strategy to combine industrial investment with human capital measures to support job creation across Karnataka’s smaller cities and surrounding regions. The stated goal is to strengthen local economic growth while limiting the need for residents to move elsewhere for work.
