Neon has released a trailer for “The Wrong Girls,” a stoner comedy led by Kristen Stewart and Alia Shawkat. Directed by writer Dylan Meyer, the film follows two best friends, Frankie and Molly, who live paycheck to paycheck and get into trouble after a wrong move pulls them into a case of mistaken identity. The trailer depicts the characters encountering experimental psychedelics after getting high on a mysterious substance, which leads to unusual consequences such as lingering powers. The story also includes a “talking cat” element: Stewart’s character crosses paths with a talking cat voiced by Seth Rogen, and the film features talking cats voiced by Rogen and Kumail Nanjiani. The trailer further shows the pair bumble through chaotic situations while dealing with pursuit from Danish bad guys who want their drugs back. The cast includes LaKeith Stanfield, Tony Hale, and Zack Fox, alongside Kate McKinnon and Geena Davis, with additional roles reported by some outlets. The film is set to hit theaters in August.
