Kaduna State Police Command says it has arrested six suspects in connection with the mob killing of two travellers in Birnin Yero. The victims are identified as Muhammadu Sani, 45, and Aliyu Mohammed, 40, both from Umar Village in Igabi Local Government Area. According to the police account reported by both outlets, the two men are reportedly killed after false allegations circulate that they are kidnappers. Kaduna police spokesperson DSP Mansir Hassan states that the arrests are made following the investigation into the unlawful killing. The police also describe the matter as a mob attack on people travelling through the area, leading to the deaths of the two victims. Authorities say the suspects are currently in custody and police continue the investigation and related legal processes.
