Pittsburgh Pirates first baseman Ryan O’Hearn has a record-setting night against the Atlanta Braves, driving in 10 runs on three home runs in a 12-4 rout. Multiple reports say O’Hearn begins the scoring with a grand slam in the first inning off Braves starter Hurston Waldrep. He adds another three-run homer in the third inning off Waldrep. In the sixth, he hits a third three-run home run, this time off Braves reliever Connor Thomas, bringing his total to 10 RBIs. The performance establishes an 87-year-old Pirates franchise record for RBIs in a single game, surpassing the previous mark held by Johnny Rizzo. Reports also note that it is the highest RBI total in a game by any player in Major League Baseball this season. The win also features Pittsburgh pitcher Paul Skenes, who is described as ending a stretch of struggles and picking up his first win in nearly two months while the Pirates win their third straight.
