Sen. Erwin Tulfo files fresh grave oral defamation complaints on Wednesday against former Anakalusugan Rep. Michael (Mike) Defensor, lawyer Levi/Levito Baligod, and several others connected to allegations he was involved in an anomalous flood control scandal. According to reports, Tulfo personally went to the Mandaluyong Prosecutor’s Office to lodge the complaints, citing the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 in relation to the case.

The complaints cover Defensor and Baligod, as well as “ex-bodyguards” identified in one report as Jeron Valderama and Bernard Gumban, who are described as among alleged “18 ex-bodyguards” of former Ako Bicol Rep. Zaldy Co. Reports also include additional respondents: incumbent Quezon City Councilor Ranulfo Ludovica and lawyer Virgilio Garcia. Tulfo’s action follows earlier public accusations in which the respondents purportedly implicated him in the flood control issue.

The filings are presented as defamation complaints, and no final findings by prosecutors are reported in the coverage.
