Arena, who joined the Nepal setup in March, had described plans aimed at building a sustained team development programme and working toward near-term ambitions, including the goal of performing in the SAFF Championship, which Nepal had targeted as a potential milestone. He departs less than four months after taking charge, citing that the operating environment created by FIFA’s sanctions prevents normal football administration and planning.
Both reports characterize the move as an abrupt end to his tenure shortly after the suspension took effect, with Arena expressing disappointment at being unable to continue his work under the disrupted circumstances.
