Adeniyi Adeyemi, the Director-General of the controversial Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), says he is ready to cooperate with investigations by handing over himself and documents to Nigeria’s Department of State Services (DSS) or the Nigeria Police Force. The outlets report that Adeyemi made the statement publicly, including in remarks connected to a conversation with social media activist Martins Vincent Otse (VeryDarkMan). Adeyemi says he will submit all documents in his possession and allow investigators to authenticate and verify them.
The statements come amid wider controversy over whether PFIPC exists. One account cited the Presidency’s position that PFIPC never existed, communicated through President’s Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila. Adeyemi responds by indicating that the documents could help establish how the agency emerged and who was responsible.
