A viral video shared online claims that the loco pilot of an Indore–Mhow DEMU passenger train stopped the service to buy samosas or other snacks from a shop near the tracks. Several reports say residents have alleged similar brief stops at the same location in the past, which added to public criticism after the clip circulated.
Western Railway, which manages the route, denies the viral account. It states the video is “false and misleading” and says the footage shows a goods train that is authorized to halt for engineering work. The zone further clarifies that, during this authorized stop, the assistant loco pilot made a personal purchase of food items, and that this act was misrepresented as the train stopping for refreshments.
Alongside the denial, Indian Railways orders an inquiry/probe into the incident after the video prompted questions online. Railways also urges people not to spread misleading content. The reports collectively indicate a dispute between viral claims and the railway’s official explanation regarding the type of train shown and the reason for the halt.
