Walmart-owned Flipkart expands its zero-commission policy for fashion sellers by removing the earlier ₹1,000 price cap. Under the revised approach, the commission waiver applies to all fashion products listed on the platform, including items priced above ₹1,000, as well as categories such as clothing, footwear, and accessories. Flipkart says the change is expected to benefit about 90,000 active fashion sellers, including MSMEs, D2C brands, and Indian fashion labels, by allowing them to retain a larger share of their sales proceeds.
Alongside the commission changes, Flipkart provides additional support to sellers through AI-powered tools available via the seller dashboard. The tools are intended to help sellers with demand forecasting, trend analysis, and catalogue management, with the goal of improving listing performance and helping sellers respond faster to shifts in customer preferences.
Flipkart frames the move as a long-term investment in its fashion seller community, coming amid continued competition among e-commerce platforms to attract and keep sellers by lowering selling costs and offering technology and operational support.
