Apple CEO Tim Cook and incoming CEO John Ternus attend the Sun Valley Conference together, alongside Apple SVP of Services and Health Eddy Cue, according to reporting cited by multiple outlets. The event is an annual, invitation-only retreat organized by boutique investment firm Allen & Company, held at the Sun Valley Lodge in Sun Valley, Idaho. This year’s conference begins on July 7 and is expected to run through July 11, with the programme featuring closed-door discussions among media, technology, and finance leaders.
Apple previously announced in April that Ternus will take the CEO title on September 1, which ends Cook’s 15-year tenure as CEO and transitions Cook to a newly created executive chairman role. Cook’s appearance is described as his final Sun Valley trip as CEO. Eddy Cue is also reported as a returning attendee.
The guest list includes prominent technology and AI figures, such as OpenAI leadership, Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai, Palantir CEO Alex Karp, and Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, as well as other major executives including Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg, Amazon’s Jeff Bezos, and Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos. Sources also note the event’s long-standing reputation as a venue for dealmaking.
