Fi launches the Fi Ultra dog tracker, billed as the first Starlink-enabled pet tracker available for purchase. The device builds on the company’s existing GPS and LTE capabilities and adds automatic failover when LTE coverage is unavailable. In those cellular dead zones, the tracker switches to T-Mobile’s Starlink-enabled direct-to-device service, marketed under T-Satellite. This connectivity lets the tracker use SpaceX’s low-Earth-orbit Starlink satellite network to maintain location updates across the United States, including areas without terrestrial cellular coverage. Multiple outlets describe the product as extending coverage beyond the traditional telco footprint by using the satellite-based fallback connection. The launch is framed as an expansion of Starlink’s direct-to-device capability into consumer pet tracking, allowing owners to monitor pets “anywhere” within the U.S. coverage area supported by the service. The reporting focuses on the Fi Ultra’s use of T-Mobile’s T-Satellite layer for Starlink satellite access rather than changes to the tracker’s core GPS/LTE functions.
