The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) impose no-sail measures as Typhoon Inday and the enhanced southwest monsoon (“habagat”) generate strong to gale-force winds and hazardous sea conditions in multiple areas. In Eastern Visayas, the PCG suspends the operations of small vessels and cancels several inter-island ferry trips after Pagasa issues gale warnings. Similar suspensions affect small vessel travel in northern Quezon, including areas around the Polillo Islands and portions of Panukulan, Burdeos, Patnanungan, and Jomalig, where the PCG cites Pagasa’s latest weather bulletin warning of rough seas. Sea travel in parts of Mindoro and other nearby provinces is also disrupted. Passenger trips between Batangas and several ports in Mindoro, Romblon, Palawan, and Western Visayas remain suspended, following enforcement of the PCG no-sail policy. On the Calapan-Batangas route in Oriental Mindoro, PPA-Mimaropa cancels fastcraft services due to rough seas, including trips operated by Montenegro Shipping Lines and Island Water. Larger Ro-Ro vessels with more stable hulls are reported to resume operations on some routes while smaller craft remain restricted.
