India all-rounder Axar Patel has revealed that captain Suryakumar Yadav used a motivational phrase from the Bollywood film “Dhoom 3” during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. Patel says the slogan—“Haath nahi chorna, saath nahi chorna,” roughly translating to “stay together, never let go”—was repeated by Suryakumar throughout the tournament, including during team huddles when the side faced difficult moments. According to the reports, the phrase helped reinforce unity among players during India’s campaign.
Both accounts link the slogan to India’s dominant World Cup run, during which the team remained unbeaten and went on to win the trophy. India defeated New Zealand in the final by 96 runs to secure the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 title. Patel also shared a signed India jersey from the World Cup-winning squad, where the slogan appears along with Suryakumar’s name and autograph.
While the film origin is highlighted, the reports note that it is not formally confirmed whether Suryakumar intentionally borrowed the dialogue or whether the similarity was coincidental; however, the slogan became associated with India’s successful campaign.
