HYBE-Geffen Records announces that KATSEYE will have its first theatrical documentary, “KATSEYE: WILD HEARTS,” released in cinemas worldwide starting Aug. 12. The company says country-by-country theater listings will be announced later. The film is scheduled to debut two days before the group releases its third extended play, “WILD,” on Aug. 14.
According to the reports, the documentary traces KATSEYE’s rise from the members’ time competing on “The Debut: Dream Academy,” the reality competition series that selected the group’s lineup, to their later international prominence. HYBE-Geffen Records also says the movie includes previously unreleased behind-the-scenes footage, as well as videos submitted by fans from EYEKONS.
In addition, the documentary features interviews with the members and is presented as offering a broader view of the pressures, challenges, and breakthroughs the group experiences during its ascent. The film is described as a limited theatrical engagement and marks KATSEYE’s first documentary released for theatrical distribution.
