OpenAI on May 11 announces Daybreak, a cybersecurity initiative aimed at helping enterprise teams secure software earlier and respond to threats sooner. Multiple outlets describe Daybreak as a tool that builds a threat model from an organization’s code, identifies potential vulnerabilities along likely attack paths, and then automates parts of detection and remediation. The Verge reports that Daybreak uses OpenAI’s Codex Security AI agent (introduced in March) to analyze code and prioritize higher-severity issues.
