Nigeria’s Immigration Service (NIS) ends its third-party visa application processing arrangement in the United States and requires US-based applicants to submit Nigeria visa applications directly to Nigerian diplomatic missions. Both outlets report that the NIS discontinues the service previously handled through Online Integrated Solution (OIS SERVICES), which operated Nigeria’s visa application and submission centres in the US.
A NIS public relations officer, Akinsola Akinlabi, is cited as saying the third-party operator is disengaged effective immediately. The outlets state that applicants seeking Nigerian visas must now submit their paperwork directly at Nigeria’s embassy in Washington, DC, or at Nigeria’s consulates in New York and Atlanta, until further notice.
The sources also note that the NIS says the embassy and consulates have put measures in place to support submissions, processing, and visa issuance. Applicants are advised to continue monitoring official communication channels from the NIS and Nigeria’s missions in the US for updates on procedures. Neither source provides a reason for the termination.
