Capital markets regulator SEBI cancels the registrations of 12 research analysts after the renewal fee required to keep their certificates of registration valid remains unpaid. The cancellations are made under SEBI’s Intermediaries Regulations, 2008. SEBI initiates summary proceedings after it issues notices to the concerned entities and receives no replies within the stipulated period. The renewal fee is due every five years from the date of registration, and SEBI states that the due dates for the affected registrations fall between March 2025 and April 2026. Because the fees are not paid by these deadlines, SEBI cancels the entities’ certificates of registration as research analysts. Among the entities named are Arjun Lenin, CNI Research Ltd, East Bridge Advisors Pvt Ltd, Kushank Kamal Poddar, and R K Global Shares & Securities Ltd. SEBI indicates that the cancellation is intended to prevent misuse of expired registration certificates, while also stating that the entities continue to remain liable for anything done or omitted to be done as research analysts.
