Graham Linehan, the comedian, receives a settlement from the Metropolitan Police after an arrest connected to an online post. Multiple outlets report that the Metropolitan Police pays Linehan £25,000 and issues an apology as part of the resolution. The BBC says Linehan was arrested at Heathrow Airport in September 2025 and was then taken to hospital. Other reports describe the payment as a five-figure compensation amount and link it directly to the arrest following the social media posting. The Guardian adds that the apology is included in the settlement. The coverage focuses on the outcome of the dispute rather than the underlying details of the post or the legal basis for the settlement. The reporting is consistent that the incident occurs at Heathrow in September 2025, that Linehan is taken to hospital afterward, and that the Metropolitan Police makes the payment and apologises to him.
